Visas
Not required by all nationals referred to in the chart above for tourist stays of up to three months provided they hold a valid return ticket.

Warning
There is currently a dengue fever epidemic in Guadeloupe (March 2010).
Most visits to Guadeloupe are trouble-free. Although the risk from crime is also low, it does exist and you should take normal common-sense precautions.
The threat from terrorism is low. But you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.
The hurricane season in Guadeloupe normally runs from June to November.

Health Care
Health care is of a good standard, but health insurance is advisable to cover costs as the reciprocal health agreement between the UK and France may not apply in Guadeloupe. There is a University Hospital Center in Pointe-à-Pitre, on Grande-Terre, and a hospital on Basse-Terre as well as a number of clinics.
Note
* A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required by travelers over one year of age arriving from an infected or endemic zone within six days.
